Nachdem er zunächst 1986 in St. Tropez selbst entworfene Badeshorts und Anfang der Neunziger Jahre Bandanatücher verkaufte, landete Bart Koene schließlich über Umwege bei handgefertigten Strickaccessoires für den Winter und gründete 1992 das Modeunternehmen Barts. Seither steht die niederländische Marke für farbenfrohe und originelle Winteraccessoires aus Strick – von einfachen Beanies über grob gestrickte Baskenmützen, von Ohrenschützern über ausgefallene Fliegermützen, von Schals und Handschuhen über kunterbunte Bommelmützen finden Damen, Herren und Kinder im Sortiment von Barts alles, was das Winterherz begehrt.
